About

As long as I can remember I’ve always been into drawing and designing things. When I was younger I spent much of my time drawing pictures of my favourite hockey players. Eventually things progressed to computer based design as I got older. I didn’t know about programs like Photoshop and unfortunately spent my time playing with Paint. When Winamp was at the peak of it’s popularity I would spend hours on end designing and creating different skins for the player. That’s what really got me into design.

On a whim in 2004 I downloaded a trial version of Adobe Photoshop 7 and decided that I was going to teach myself how to use it. I also got my hands on a copy of Dreamweaver and decided to make myself a website. Then another, and another and another. I joined up to an internet forum and started creating signatures for members there and my style evolved.

After doing the majority of my History Major at St. Thomas University (Major and Minor are completed, just didn’t finish my final year), I decided to leave the university and go to a graphic design college. I enrolled at the Centre for Arts and Technology in Fredericton for some formal training in graphic design. I took on some freelance work during this time and worked at a couple small jobs. In October I saw that Red Cow was hiring and decided to apply.

Admittedly, when I started at Red Cow I was out of the game for quite a few months and as a result I was rustier than an old car. Looking back at the stuff that I did before I started at Red Cow compared to the stuff that I’m doing now… it’s like night and day. I find that I’m really coming into my own and that I’m actually living up to my potential now.
